Humanitarian Award 2008 for her work against rape and vesico vaginal fistula (VVF). Determined to expand her horizons and create more opportunities for women in Nollywood and Africa’s film industry, Linus took a break in 2008 to study film at the New York Film Academy at Universal Studios, Los Angeles. She produced her first Hollywood/Nollywood film “THROUGH THE GLASS” which premiered in October 2008 at the Pacific Design Center in Hollywood California and the won the Recognition Award from the California State Legislature and the city of Carson for the film; Over the years, she has been nominated three times for the prestigious AMAA Awards. In 2009, Stephanie joined forces with DEL-YORK International a media and marketing communications company as its CEO bringing the prestigious New York Film Academy (NYFA) for one-month intensive workshop to train and inspire young Nigerian filmmakers in 2010. The same year, she was featured in the CNN documentary 50 years of Nigerian Independence and performed alongside Meryl Streep at an exclusive stage reading of the play Seven at the Hudson Theatre in New York, as part of the Women in the World Conference, opened by US Secretary of State, Hilary Clinton. For Stephanie, however, what drives these immense accomplishments has been a burning desire to empower and represent women in the best possible light; this vision inspires and drives her in all of her work as an actress, director, entrepreneur , activist and style icon.

Jane Lawalata is the first woman director to come to America and successfully write and direct a feature film “Chatterbox The Movie” that has been distributed world-wide by Marvista Entertainment, a top LA-based film distributor. Jane has achieved what no other woman from “Indonesia” or “Southeast Asia” has been able to do because of a combination of talent, vision, experience and plain old intestinal fortitude. Where others saw a daunting and formidable task, Jane saw a unique opportunity. As a result, Jane’s success has opened the door to many other talented woman from that part of the world and from other countries to try and realize their dream : to become a successful film director in America. She began her career at the prestigious Jakarta Institute Of Art in 1994 and then in 1997 began an extensive and varied career with top local TV stations RCTI, TRANS TV, and KABELVISION (Cable TV). She graduated from the Producing Program at the New York Film Academy’s LA campus and as her thesis project wrote the treatment and script for what would become her triumphant entry into the world of commercial cinema: “Chatterbox The Movie”. Jane met Stephanie Linus in 2007 and not long after she work as Co-Producer and Editor on Stephanie’s film “Through The Glass”. Previous to that Jane also get the opportunity to Produce and Edit “Jump The Broom A Musical” that was directed by Kena Dorsey and Composed by Michael McElroy. Jane is now busily prepping production for “CARRIER” where she works together with producer Russell Gray (Sex & The City, Mac Gyver, Highlander) this film will be shoot in Batam , Indonesia.

Dr. Akanimo Odon is an international business and strategy development expert. He was an Adviser to the British Government on developing international education policies under the National Student Forum, International Ambassador for Lancaster University for two years (2005 – 2007), Education Partnership Consultant for British Council, Nigeria, Enterprise Fellow for Stanford University under the Round-table for Entrepreneurship Education (2007), Business Development Consultant for the Grow Creative Scheme under the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) for two years, Local Content Adviser for BG Group (Nigerian Asset), Strategy Development Consultant for several UK and African organizations. With a PhD in Environmental Management, he was appointed Partnership Consultant for the National Center for Energy and Environment under the Energy Commission of the Nigerian Presidency and recently, a West African Business Ambassador for Lancaster Environment Center of Lancaster University. A well groomed entrepreneur with enterprise and business development certifications from Judge Business School of Cambridge University, UK and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) USA under the Enterprises Programme, and an International Fellowship Award from Stanford University Business School, he thrives on delivering excellence. Currently, the Chief Executive of Envirofly Consulting (www.envirofly-group.com). An ardent creative writer, he has written and published two literary works in London – a novel titled ‘A Parallel Trail and an anthology of poetry titled ‘Rhymes from the Heart’ both available on amazon. Seven years ago, he co-founded a UK and Canada based NGO, Xn Foundation (www.xnfoundation.org), and now the UK Country Director, he has helped develop several charitable projects aimed at youth, community and national development. He is passionate about projecting the potentials, talents and achievements of Nigerians at home and abroad. He is married to Ifeyinwa and they both have a daughter, Ima-Abasi and a son Inem-Abasi.

Mr Ghaznavi has been a fastidious consultant in the realm of Global Business Development for over a decade. He has a wealth of event planning and co-coordinating experience ranging from concerts to nightclubs to theatre on three different continents. This coupled with the fact that he is responsible for Aberystwyth University’s development in Africa has led to him being an essential component for the production of the UK based shooting for DRY.

With a bachelor’s degree in law and a Master’s of Business Administration he has acted as an external advisor and networker within his core regions of both the Middle East and Central Asia and the responsibilities of his current role with Aberystwyth University include liaising with cultural attaches, dignitaries, diplomats, ambassadors and foreign ministries on their behalf.

Angel Barroeta is one of the most talented and sought after Directors of Photography working today. Based in the U.S. and having strong connections in Latin America, Angel has been the cinematographer for a number of films including features like Chatterbox, Operacion Jaque, Immigration Tango, Passing Fancy, and Off the Chain. The short films he’s worked on include the award winning short films Never Winter, Broken and A Monkton Family Christmas which has been screened in the important Toronto and Cannes film festivals.

His painterly compositions and the artistry with which he lights scenes have led to work on major advertising campaigns like Nintendo DS, Ford Vehicles, Continental Airlines, MTV, VH1, Nickelodeon, TNT and more along with music videos for artists like Lil Wayne and Wyclef Jean. With his exceptional work Angel has established himself as a rising star in his field.

 

 

 

Chinedu Omorie1CHINEDU OMORIE -:First Assistant Director, DRY:,

Chinedu Omorie; a graduate of Delyork/New York Film Academy in Nigeria. He has worked as an Assistant director on some movie projects such as: HAVILLAH MOVIE, CHIDERA MOVIE amongst others. He directed some TV programs such as FANTASTIC DATE ( a tv magazine show) and SIBLINGS (A tv Soaps opera). He directed few short films and has also directed his first feature film ‘A LONGER NIGHT’. His passion for film making continue to take him higher one step at a time as it landed him on the big project ‘DRY’.  DRY Movie was one of his major big project film where he experienced film making with hollywood film makers. He served effectively in the capacity of First Assistant Director.
